I finally got round to finishing off my first project! The shirt is "done", shoulders are a bit rough and some stray frayed bit on the paisley fabric (more delicate than I'd expected)

@danny
Wow!! That's quite a challenging first project, with a lot of aspects to learn. It looks super personalized which is one of the greatest aspects of #sewing.

@EllenInEdmonton I've just finished an evening course at a local college so wanted something to cram in as much learning as I could! Enjoyed it so now gotta work out what to make next!

@danny
Oh, you followed instructions very well! I've been taking sewing classes over the last couple of years but I've avoided buttons, zippers, collars, and waistbands... Part of the reason is because I rarely wear clothing with any of those features but also because I want to simplify my sewing as much as possible!

@danny
And if you have the chance to take another class, try to make a well-fitting pair of pants and/or a jacket and then, you could be pretty self-sufficient after that! I'm super happy now that I've tried assorted patterns for my most frequently-worn items and worked out a lot of the kinks. I had enough #MeMade clothes to wear something all through May for the challenge, with repeats, obviously.

@danny
You did amazing well for a first project and a shirt with a button placket too! Love the contrasting collar

@danny that's a great job! What a cool combination of fabrics too!
